Hibiscus Simple Syrup

This syrup can be used to swirl into cheesecakes, used as a simple syrup in margaritas and used as a drizzle on salads. Use the candied hibiscus on salads too!

If we are what we eat, well I am awfully sweet.
Hibiscus Simple Syrup
Ingredients:
1/2 cup dried hibiscus
2/3 cup sugar
1 1/3 cups water
Instructions:
Add the dried hibiscus, sugar and water to small saucepan.
Heat on high heat until lightly boiling.
Reduce heat to medium and let simmer for about 20-25 minutes until reduced and slightly thickened.
Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
Strain the liquid from the hibiscus.
Dry the hibiscus on a paper towel and store.
Store syrup in air tight jar.
